We found our cat Gambit dead yesterday. Gabby cried for a long while and then she drew this picture. She says it is Gambit's mommy coming to get him and take him up to Heaven with her.

One of our cats died last night. We don't know when or why. He didn't come in last night, and this morning we found him lying under a table in our back garden. No visible signs of injury. He was only a few years old and seemed very healthy. All my kids are staying home from school today and the oldest four have been crying non-stop since we found him. Angelica is blaming herself for not looking for him last night. I've tried telling her that it's nobody's fault. She was especially close to him as we rescued him a little over two years ago from the streets after he followed her home.

It was such a shock to find him like that.

Today is Robert's and my 6th wedding anniversary!
The teenagers got up with the younger three and let us sleep in this morning, and, later, they gave us a card and a little gift bag with two large chocolate bars in it. (British tradition states that you give each other sweets for this anniversary. I think American tradition states that you give iron though.)

Yesterday, I took Gabriella, Isabella and Connor to see Santa. Kayla came along to help and even dressed the part! Here's a picture of all four of them with Santa:


None of them smiled, but they were happy to go and see Santa anyway.

I am very late at updating my journal. I still have Halloween portraits and pictures to share! (I'll try to share my Halloween stuff sometime after Christmas.)

I have just added some Christmas photos I have taken recently to my gallery and changed my favorite deviation at the top of my home page to a Christmas one of Gabby taken two years ago. Hopefully, that will help to make my deviantArt homepage look more festive.

I still have some Christmas portraits to share with everyone, but they may take me a bit longer to get around to, so I will hopefully be sharing them sometime early in the new year.
